Overview

What is Stake Trek and what is its purpose?

  •  The Stake Trek 2026 is a stake wide youth activity designed to be a Christ centered journey. The purpose of  Trek is to unite the youth in becoming enduring disciples of Jesus Christ by walking with Him in holiness.

What is the overall spiritual theme of Trek?

  • The trek theme follows the youth theme for the year, “Walk with Me” a phrase taken from Moses 6:33, a verse about a young Enoch who is invited by God to take a journey of creating a holy and united people

When is the “Walk with Me” Trek?

  • June 23-26, 2026. Tuesday morning through Friday afternoon. Arrangements are being made for a *POSSIBLE* temple trip on Monday June 22 where we will do temple baptisms to prepare for our journey. Trek will be 3 nights, 4 days.

How does "Walk With Me" Trek differ from traditional handcart treks?

  • This year won’t be a traditional pioneer trek. Instead, it will be a Christ-centered journey focused on unity and holiness. We’ll hike, have devotionals and games, and take time to study and reflect so we can learn how to walk with Christ together.

Who should come to Trek?

Who is invited to attend? What are the age requirements?

  • All youth who turn 14 in the year 2026 to youth 18 years old may attend. Those that turn 18 prior to Trek and graduating seniors are welcome to attend.

Which ward leaders will be on Trek?

  • Bishops and Young Women presidents have been invited to attend. Additional ward leaders will be called as needed based on the number of youth attending from your home ward. All leaders will be trained in Church safety and youth protection policies.

Other Concerns + Medical Needs

What if my child has never been camping before?

  • That’s okay — many youth will be new to camping. Leaders will help youth know what to do, and Trek will be structured in a way that supports first-time campers. The most important things are coming with a good attitude, being willing to try hard things, and being ready to work together as a ward group.

What medical support will be available?

  • We will have numerous medical professionals onsite and a medical plan in place, including first-aid supplies, designated medical checks, and clear procedures for common issues like blisters, dehydration, headaches, strains, and minor injuries. Please list all medications on the registration form.

Can youth with physical limitations still participate?

  • Yes, depending on the situation. Trek will be physically demanding, but we want every youth who desires to participate to have that opportunity. Please reach out early so we can talk through limitations and options.

Are accommodations available for special needs?

  • Yes. We will do our best to provide accommodations where possible. Some limitations may exist due to the terrain and hiking requirements, but we want to plan early and support each youth as best we can.

Who do I talk to about my child’s specific needs?

  • Please contact your bishop or Young Women president as soon as possible so we can coordinate medical needs, dietary restrictions, or special accommodations well before Trek.

Technology and Communications

Can youth bring cell phones?

  • No. Phones are not allowed.

Will there be cell service?

  • No.

How can I contact my child during Trek?

  • The best way to contact your child is through ward leaders and Trek leadership. A contact number will be shared before Trek so parents know exactly who to call if needed.

How can my child contact me in an emergency?

  • In an emergency, youth will always have access to adult leaders who can contact parents immediately. We will have leadership with reliable communication options available throughout Trek.
